School of Journalism Scholarships

The Detroit News Staff Scholarship: Established by current and former employees of The Detroit News, this award is intended to encourage students who have the demonstrated capacity to achieve educational and professional goals, the motivation to achieve these goals, and the initiative to seek opportunities to further their progress.
Qualifications:

  • The recipient shall be an incoming freshman who intends to major in journalism, plans to pursue newspaper journalism and shows promise of becoming a successful journalist.

School of Journalism scholarships are applied to a student’s university account to support a future semester of study. To be considered, applicants must complete the application form for this scholarship opportunity.
