Sheldon and Neva Ackerman Moyer Endowed Scholarship

Sheldon Moyer played a key role in taking The State News from a 3 to a 5 day-a-week publication. When he left to serve in World War II, Neva Ackerman took over as managing editor. Both went on to have remarkable careers and this scholarship recognizes the importance of their MSU education.

Qualifications:

  • Junior or senior level undergraduate student in Fall 2025
  • Declared major in Journalism, Advertising Creative, or Advertising Management
  • Cumulative GPA of a 2.0 or higher
  • Recipients are chosen based on their experience working for The State News (past or present)
