Spartans Will Scholarship in Business
The Spartans Will Scholarship in Business was established through the generosity of Tim and Karen Stewart to support undergraduate students in the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University. As lifelong Spartan supporters, Tim and Karen created this scholarship to help students access the life-changing opportunities that a Michigan State education provides. Their shared belief in the value of higher education inspired them to invest in the next generation of business leaders.
Tim, a first-generation Spartan, and Karen, a third-generation Spartan, met while attending Michigan State University. After graduation, Tim built a career in public accounting, while Karen became a middle school teacher. Together, they established this scholarship to help students pursue their educational goals and carry forward the Spartan tradition of service, leadership, and success.
The scholarship is intended to recognize undergraduate students entering the Eli Broad College of Business, with a particular emphasis on supporting first-generation college students as they begin their academic journey. By reducing financial barriers, the Stewarts hope to encourage students to thrive both in the classroom and beyond.
Recipients are selected annually during the spring semester, with awards taking effect the following fall. The number and amount of awards are determined each year based on available endowment funds and are typically applied through the tuition payment process.
