Michigan State University has hundreds of scholarship opportunities available. Opportunities can be a combination of general scholarships (open to all students) and departmental scholarships (restricted to students within a specific major or field of study). Scholarships may be recommended to you at different times throughout the year as applications become available, so we suggest visiting MSU Scholarships often. Please keep in mind this section lists scholarships available regardless if you are eligible or not.

MSU programs and activities, including scholarships, are not restricted based on race, sex, color, ethnicity, national origin or other protected personal identity. Eligibility is not restricted based on protected identity. No preference based on a protected identity will be given in the selection of recipients.

Please note that some scholarships utilize an “Auto-Match” feature which will not require you to apply directly for the scholarship to be considered eligible. These scholarships will be indicated by the words “No Application Available” in the Action column.

For scholarships for which you need to apply, please make a note of the deadline, as late submissions will not be accepted.

Admitted students and currently enrolled students: Sign in using your MSU NetID e-mail and password to begin the scholarship application process. Once logged in, the system will automatically direct you to required applications.
